Engine 11 is a 1996 KME pumper on an International Chassis and is the first out engine on vehicle accidents and mutual aid responses and second out on structure fires in hydrant areas.
We carry 1000 gallons of water on board . There is a total of 1825 feet of hose on board this very capable truck. 825 ft of supply hose, allowing us to pull water from several different sources when needed. There are two separate 200' preconnected 1 3/4" hoses, as well as one preconnected 100' 1 3/4" line. This allows us to rapidly attack any fire the moment we arrive on the scene. We also have a preconnected yardlay which consists of 150' of 3" line wyed into (2) 100' sections of 1 3/4" hose.
Inside the five person cab we have our Self Contained Breathing Apparatus's (SCBA) mounted in the seats. This allows us to fully put on our protective gear while we are still on the way to any fire scene. Upon our arrival we should be fully protected and ready to take on whatever situation faces us.
Some of the specials features of this Engine are its top mount pump panel which allows the engineer a full view of what is happening on the scene. We carry a PPV fan to remove smoke from buildings, a portable generator to provide us with our own electricity, and lights to show us the way even in the middle of the night. Also some of the newest additions to this truck are water rescue supplies. This truck is dedicated to retired firefighter Charles Kinder who passed away in March 2005..
