Engine 12

Engine 12 is a 2001 KME Panther Pumper and is the first out engine on structure and vehicle fires.

We carry 1000 gallons of water on board . There is over 1675 feet of hose on board this very capable truck. 825 ft of 5"supply hose, allowing us to pull water from several different sources when needed. There are two separate 200' preconnected 1 3/4" hose, as well as one 100' preconnected 1 3/4" hose. This allows us to rapidly attack any fire the moment we arrive on the scene. We also have a preconnected yardlay which consists of 150' of 3" hose wyed into (2) 1 3/4" lines each of which are 100'.

Inside the large six person cab we have our Self Contained Breathing Apparatus's (SCBA) mounted in the seats. This allows us to fully put on our protective gear while we are still on the way to any fire scene. Upon our arrival we should be fully protected and ready to take on whatever situation faces us.

Some of the specials features of this engine are its top mount pump panel which allows the engineer a full view of what is happening on the scene. We carry a PPV fan to remove smoke from buildings, a mounted generator to provide us with our own electricity, and lights to show us the way even in the middle of the night. Also some of the newest additions to this truck are water rescue supplies. We also carry our back-up extrication equipment on this unit. This truck is dedicated to retired Fire Chief Jack L. Cox who passed away in August of 2008.
