Centerville Fire/Rescue would like to thank everyone who assisted in some way at the 84 Lumber Company fire. Thank you to Abington, Cambridge City, Greens Fork, Milton, Webster, and Williamsburg Fire Departments for all of your hard work and cooperation. It was a privilege to work with such professional departments. The manpower assistance was greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Cambridge City for the use of your aerial truck. You saved us countless hours of overhaul. Thanks for all of the tankers, there is no way we could have flowed 380,000 gallons of water without the tireless efforts of these departments. Thanks to Rural/Metro Ambulance for standing by during the fire. Thank you to Brett Downing of Downing & Sons for your assistance in helping pull the debris apart so it could be extinguished. You made our job much easier! Thanks to the Nazarene Church for opening up your facility so that we had a location to meet and coordinate all of the activities that needed to be accomplished. Thanks to those of you who generously donated food and drinks: Meijer, McDonalds, Rax, and Ernies Market. Thanks to the Wayne County Sheriffs Department, Centerville Police Department, State Highway, County Highway, and Centerville Street Department for your assistance with traffic control. Thank you to the Centerville Water Department for monitoring our water usage and keeping the water supply more than adequate. Thanks to the Centerville Town Council for their improving our water system to be able to handle the amount of water needed. Thanks to everyone with 84 Lumber Company for working with us. You are a very professional company and we are certainly glad you are going to remain in our community. Thank you goes out to Wayne County Emergency Management for monitoring the water runoff from the fire to make sure we were not causing any contamination of the area. A big thank you goes out to Wayne County EOC for their assistance. Your help in getting all of the agencies dispatched to the scene was greatly appreciated. Thanks to the Western Wayne News and Bond Photography for allowing us to use their photos. And last but certainly not least, we thank the Centerville Fire/Rescue Auxiliary. You gals are GREAT! From the beginning of the fire, until we left the scene you were there making sure we had food and drinks. We appreciate all that you did! If we have left anyone out it certainly was not done intentionally and we thank you.
