DESTROYS STORAGE BUILDING
Fire
destroyed a storage building at 9558 Colvin Road on Monday
April 28. Crews arriving to the 6:51 P.M. alarm, found heavy
fire and smoke pouring from the building. The fire was quickly
brought under control, however total extinguishment was
accomplished around 9 P.M. Damage to the building and contents
was listed at $70,000. Cause of the fire was listed as gasoline
leaking from a vehicle which was ignited by a cutting torch.
Thirty five firefighters from Centerville, Cambridge City,
and Abington battled the blaze. No injuries were reported.

A TOUR OF OUR STATION
MOCK
ACCIDENT HELD AT C.H.S.
A mock
accident was held at Centerville High School on Friday May
2. Held the day before the prom, the accident was used to
stress the dangers of driving impaired and not using seat
belts. Jointly sponsored by Centerville-Abington Community
Schools, Centerville Police Department, and Centerville Fire/Rescue.,
the scenario served not only as an educational learning experience
for the Junior and Senior classes, but a training excercise
for the police and fire departments. Others participating
were: Rural Metro Ambulance, Dublin Ambulance, Miami Valley
Careflight Helicopter, Indiana State Police, Wayne County
Coroners Office, as well as high school students and parents.
